Establishing A Student Organization

Student Activities

OWC guidelines for establishing a student organization are considered to be under the jurisdiction of the Student Senate. Any students interested in forming an organization should follow this procedure:

  1. Submit to the Student Senate
    1. The purpose(s) of the organization,
    2. The prospective membership,
    3. Tentative charter membership,
    4. Plans of procedure,
    5. Financial plans, and
    6. The proposed constitution and organization outline of the group.
  2. Obtain approval of the proposed organization by the Student Senate.
  3. Transmit the organizational documents and documentation of Student Senate approval thereof to the Dean of Student Services for processing for final approval by the appropriate College committee(s) as a college-recognized student organization; and
  4. Upon final approval, file with the Coordinator of Student Activities four (4) copies of the organization's constitution and such related documents as may be applicable.
