General InformationBachelor of Science in Nursing
OWC is seeking national accreditation for its new Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This accreditation process, which is an essential part of building a quality program, includes a site visit from a group of nurse educators selected by CCNE. The visiting team is interested in your views about the OWC baccalaureate nursing program and invites you to send comments to the CCNE at One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036 or www.aacn.nche.edu; or by phone: 202-887-6791 or fax: 202-887-8476. Written and signed comments will be accepted by CCNE until September 6, 2008. Northwest Florida State College has been granted approval by the Florida Department of Education to offer the RN to BSN Program. NWF State College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges Schools to offer the RN to BSN Program. Students completing this new baccalaureate program will be able to finish all upper division course work through the college and receive the RN to BSN degree from OWC. We anticipate an inaugural BSN class beginning enrollment in August 2008. We are seeking national nursing accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). For further information regarding the CCNE, see www.aacn.nche.edu/accreditation/. If you are an RN and interested in obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing we would like to talk with you. Please call for an appointment with Beth Norton, 850 729-6473 to learn about pre-requisite and general education courses that are required for BSN degree programs.

NURSING MENU General Info "The need for BSN nurses to serve as case managers, nurse educators and nurse managers cannot be met in this area with our current supply . . . we're thrilled that the state approved an Okaloosa County based program and for OWC's vital part of this joint effort." Wayne Campbell, CEO Fort Walton Beach Medical Center
